Communication, Education and Training (CET) WG


The Communication, Education and Training (CET) WG is a platform for exchanging knowledge on the European educational potential of space applications, and developing training opportunities in space technologies and HR services to enterprises. This WG is transversal to the others, and looks into specific European programmes related to CET in all interested space sectors.

  • Martina Hilger, Policy Adviser for Research and Technology, Representation of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen to the EU (Bremen Region)
  • Michel Bousquet, Director of postgraduate programmes in Aerospace Communications and Navigation at ISAEE (Institut Supérior de l’Aeronatique et de l’Espace) (Midi-Pyrénées Region)

  • What would happen during a day without satellites? “Blackout – A Day without Satellites” is the new initiative launched by the WG co-Chairs, Ms Martina Hilger (Bremen) and Mr. Michel Bousquet (ISAE), a collection of facts, figures and stories on the importance of satellites in our daily lives. Do you have a story to tell? Submit it by the end of January!

2010

E-catalogue

 

Thanks to the intensive collaboration with CNES, the WG created an on-line database on space education and training courses in the NEREUS regions. The e-catalogue which gives a very comprehensive overview of the space courses available in the universities and institutes in our regions is now running. Re-launch of the WG

On the occassion of the Symposium on 16 April 2010 the WG met in Grenada/Andalusia for the first time under the lead of the two co-chair-women Martina Hilger, Bremen and Malecka Saleman, CNES and used the gathering to decide on a number of fundamental questions regarding the content of the working group. The working group renamed itself to Communication, Education and Training (CET) Working Group and put emphasis on raising the public’s awareness of space technology.
